Forest maintenance.

We would like to welcome Jim Etzel to the Mani shop! Jim and Shawn have been working hard to thin out our pine forest. The red pine is growing too thick and unless we take some trees out, it will start to die off. We brought in a local logger and he is removing the trees that Jim is marking. We are mulching the tops, and looking at projects for the short pieces. Nothing will be wasted. We are then going to plant forage trees and edible plants in the clearing we created. The photos show Jim marking trees, Shawn making mulch, the thinned out forest, and the landing that the loggers are working in.
